We believe God calls us to love and serve. The Bible is our foundation. We read it and apply it to our lives. United Methodists agree that God brings salvation and forgiveness to all people. But sometimes we agree to disagree on other issues. We have a pastor but our church is led by members. Sometimes we worship with traditional organ music. Other times you’ll hear us banging on conga drums.
We believe in the dignity of each individual person. Our members come to church alone, with kids, or as an entire family. We hope everyone will feel welcome and comfortable regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, or net worth. You could call it our theology of inclusion. Everyone is welcome.
We are part of the broader United Methodist community. Read more about the United Methodist Church here.
“Central United Methodist Church has a very high quality of music, for a smaller worshiping community.”
-Dick“Everyone knows that they are welcome here. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is or how you are dressed. IF you come here you will feel welcomed and loved.”
-Betty“It is really the best of high and low worship. There is something formal and sacred, but it is also casual and authentic.”
-Beth“I love the different voices in the prayers of the people each week. Young, old, black, white, local and foreign accents, men and women.”
-Caroline“Some of us have piercing and tattoos, others wear Pendeltons and Allen Edmonds shoes and everything in between, but everyone fits in.”
